Entropic Growth

Art, Cities & Landscape, La Maison de la Culture d'Amiens

Commission with Landscape Architect Simon Brown to create an installation on one of the man made, medieval islands of the hortillionnages, a network of old market gardens built into canals passing through and around the city of Amiens. For many centuries these gardens provided most of the city's fresh produce, bringing the vegetables to market via boat. Art, Cities & Landscape is a yearly exhibition with La Maison de la Culture exploring the landscape of the Hortillionnages, its proximity to the city and the practices of invited Landscape Architects and artists. Drawing on local folklore, land art and the region's history of agriculture we built Entropic Growth.
